Friendly Captcha

Our website uses the Friendly Captcha service. This service is provided by Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3-5, 82237 Wörthsee, Germany. Friendly Captcha is a novel, data protection-friendly protection solution to make it difficult for automated programs and scripts (so-called “bots”) to use our website. For this purpose, we have integrated a program code from Friendly Captcha into our contact forms. Your IP address is recorded by Friendly Captcha in order to send a cryptographic task to your end device. This task is solved in the background and as soon as it is solved, a friendly captcha confirms to the server that this is a natural person.

Friendly Captcha processes and stores the following data:

  • Anonymized IP address of the requesting computer
  • Information about the browser used and the operating system
  • Anonymized counters per IP address to control cryptographic tasks
  • Website from which the access took place.

The data will only be used to protect against spam and bots as described above. Friendly Captcha does not set or read cookies on the visitor’s end device. IP addresses are only stored in hashed (one-way encrypted) form and do not allow us and Friendly Captcha to draw any conclusions about an individual. The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interest in protecting our website from abusive access by bots, i.e. spam protection and protection against attacks (e.g. mass enquiries), Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Further information on data protection when using Friendly Captcha can be found at https://friendlycaptcha.com/legal/privacy-end-users/.

YouTube videos with enhanced privacy

We have integrated YouTube videos into our website. We use the YouTube No-Cookies function, i.e. we have activated extended data protection, videos are not accessed via youtube.com but via youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube provides this itself and thus ensures that YouTube will initially not save any cookies on your device. However, when the relevant pages are called up, the IP address and the other data specified in Section 4 are transmitted and, in particular, it is communicated which of our Internet pages you have visited. However, this information cannot be assigned to you if you are permanently logged in to YouTube or another Google service when you call up the page.

As soon as you start playing an embedded video by clicking on it, YouTube only saves cookies on your device that do not contain any personally identifiable data thanks to the extended data protection mode, unless you are currently logged in to a Google service. These cookies can be prevented by appropriate browser settings and extensions.
